Upcoming Events
Celebrate the Season!  The Lent was the time when the early church prepared new converts for Baptism.  We will remember Christ’s temptation in the wilderness as well as his healing ministry in a season of contemplative worship leading up to Holy Week. Lent continues through March, with Holy Week March 28 - April 3.
Lenten Soup Suppers began Wednesday, February 24 and will continue each Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. through March 24. The evenings will include worship and a new Lenten study.
A Seder for Christians will be presented on March 30, the Tuesday of Holy Week. A seder is the meal through which the Jewish people pass on to the next generation the story of the Passover and Exodus from Egypt. Jesus and his disciples took part in a Seder on the night of the Last Supper. Our Seder will include a full meal, with Leg of Lamb as the main course. Participants may help by bringing side dishes and some of the items needed for the ceremonial part of the meal. Please sign up if you plan to attend, since it would be helpful to know how many are coming.
An Offertory Anthem is being planned for Easter Day. It will include trumpet accompaniment and requires at least five singers. If you are interested in singing on Easter, please remain after church to get music. We will rehearse 10 - 15 minutes after church during Lent. Join us and sing for Joy!
A New Study will be open to all women of the church. We will be studying A Woman’s High Calling - Ten Essentials for Godly Living by Elizabeth George. It is a Bible-based study that includes a workbook. The group will meet on Thursday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. at a group member’s home. The next meeting will be Thursday, March 18 at the home of Roxanne Myers. A light lunch will be provided.Â
Children’s Church - A new curriculum began Sunday, January 17 at 10:15. The children will be fulfilling the requirements for the scouting badge God and Me. All are invited to attend.
St. Andrew’s Reunion Group, open to all members of the congregation, continues to meet on the first Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Our next meeting will be March 15. We will be making palanca for the next Cursillo.
Altar Flowers - The 2010 calendar for Altar Flowers is posted on the bulletin board. Please consider enhancing our worship by donating flowers for Sundays during the Church year, excluding Lent. Flowers may be donated in memory of a loved one, in thanksgiving for birthdays or other important events, or to the Glory of God.Â
VISION 2012: Remember to pray daily for St. Andrews. Your attendance is vitally important. The best way to get new members is for you to invite them!
